Glass Fiber Look-a-Like

Glass and Plastic Fiber

The two fibers that appear white that are left of center are fragments from plastic foam. Without polarized light they would look similar to glass fibers. The glass fibers in this image are about the same brightness as the background with the exception of the effects of oblique illumination on the vertically oriented fiber and the pink resin on the lower diagonal glass fiber.
