Dry Soot

Dry soot consists of sub-micrometer carbon particles, often as agglomerates, that are diffusionally or electrostatically deposted on surfaces. There distribution on surfaces tends to be uniform or in a fractile tree pattern, depending on the electrostatic nature of the surface. Dry soot particles are the primary pigment causing ghosting on walls, carpet, and behind picture frames.
