Tapered Cylinder Particles
This is part of a guide to the identification of particles seen in samples of
free particles.
This file includes particles that have the shape roughly of a tapered cylinder.
They tend to be formed by a plastic or elastomeric material
rubbing against another material.
Black Tapered Cylinder
The most common particle in this group is tire wear though some shoe
wear and track wear particles are in this group.
Pink Tapered Cylinders with Calcite
The most common particle in this group is pink pearl
erasure material. This is often found in school
classroom samples.
Other Tapered Cylinders
The most common particles in this group are
shoe wear or floor wear.
