Thin Film Interference Colors on Copper

This copper sheet was treated with sussesive applications of dilute sodium sulfide solusion. The sheet was dipped just a little deeper each time with the result that the film of copper sulfide grew sussesively thicker. This shows the first and part of the second order thin film interference colors on copper.
