Thin Film Interference Colors on Copper

This copper sheet was treated with sussesive applications of dilute sodium sulfide solusion. The sheet was dipped just a little deeper each time with the result that the film of copper sulfide grew sussesively thicker. This shows the first through the fourth order thin film interference colors on copper.
