Ash from an Industrial Fire View through a Microscope

Ash from a nearby Industrial Fire

This is ash and char from a Maria fire along with debris from the local industrial environment. Much of the material that burned was a fiberglass composite. The resin had burned off of much of the composite so glass fiber was common in the downwind direction from this fire. This glass fiber is coated with ash and soot from the fire. Agglomerated soot particles (the black fuzzy edged particles) are another major component in this assemblage from the fire. This is a close-up of the previous image.
