Charred Wood and Tire Wear

This is from the Creek/Sylmar fire in Los Angeles, California in 2017. This is from an environmental tapelift collected in a home near the Creek fire. It shows a fragment of charred wood (right) and a tire wear particle. The tire wear is the tapered cylinder with a mineral filler approximately 2 micrometers in diameter. The charred wood in the jagged fragment.
