Wheat Field Burning Particle
This is cluster of pyrolyzed silica phytoliths
from an environmental tapelift collected in a home exposed to a wheat field
fire. The undulating edge pattern between the carbon coated silica phytoliths is
typical of wheat but is also found in some other grasses. The clear
area running horizontally across the upper part of the particle is a vein where the
phytoliths are not carbon coated. The vein phytoliths are distinct.
