Charred Redshanks (Adenostoma sparsiflolium) Bloom
This is ash from the bloom of Redshanks collected in
southern California. It was prepared in a laboratory
muffle furnace. The sepals char as rough flakes as at right in this image. The
petals and the pedical are more complex when charred, left in
                  this image.
