Carpet Beetle Frass

Carpet Beetle Frass

This is a single fecal pellet of a carpet beetle feeding on the carapace of a dead insect. The appearance of the fecal pellets is strongly affected by the nature of the food source, in this case chitin. The fecal pellet is a bit more consolidated than other pellets seen in this sample.
