Diffraction Grating

1.9 micrometer Diffraction Grating

This is the image of the diffraction grating with a 10X, NA 0.25 objective using darkfield illumination when the spacing of the resolved grating is smaller than the observer (camera) can resolve. Increasing the magnification of the ocular would solve the problem. That has no effect on the resolution of the microscope, only on the ability of the observer to see what is being resolved.
