1.9 micrometer Diffraction Grating
This is the image of the diffraction grating with a 10X, NA
0.25 objective using darkfield
illumination when the spacing of the resolved grating is smaller than the observer
(camera) can resolve. Increasing the
magnification of the ocular would solve the problem. That has no effect on the
resolution of the microscope, only on
the ability of the observer to see what is being resolved.
