Diatom From Transformer Oil Under the Microscope

Diatom from Transformer Oil

This diatom is from an oil sample collected from a 8400kVA transformer. This transformer was reportedly gas blanketed and sealed. The presence of this diatom and others may be from a diatomaceous earth filter used to clean the oil.
