Ashed Douglas Fir Bark
This is ashed Douglas Fir Bark. Most of it is white ash,
some with pyrolyzed calcium oxalate phytoliths. The black
char particle shows the sponge-like structure of some of the bark components. This
is from a section of Douglas Fir bark that was ashed in a muffle
furnace.
