The Environmental Light Microscope
This is one example of an environmental light microscope.
It is configure to enable transmitted brightfield, darkfield, crossed linear
polarized light, crossed circular polarized light, off-crossed polarized light,
oblique illumination, and reflected darkfield illumination of any field of view
within seconds. The abilty to characterize a particle in a few seconds with all of
these different types of illumination without moving the particle is critical for an
environmental sample.
