Transmitted Darkfield Dispersion Staining
This is a collection of glass fiber that has a
refractive index of 1.550 in a high dispersion liquid with
a refractive index of 1.545.
Transmitted Darkfield Illumination
Definition/Function:
Transmitted darkfield makes any object in the field of view bright. That includes most
opaque particles. If the refractive index of the particle and
the mounting medium match at some visible wavelength but the dispersion curve of the
mounting medium has a greater slope than that of the particle then
the particle is color by all the wavelengths that are a certain distance from the
matching wavelength.
