Charred Paint Fragment Under the Microscope

Charred Paint Fragment

This particle is a thin flake texture on this side with hematite grains concentrated in the ridges that are out of focus in this image. This is consistent with a flake of charred paint from a sandblasted iron surface such as the large racks involved in this fire. This was from an environmental tapelift collected in a home a few hundred meters (a little over 200 yards) away from a large plumbing warehouse fire.
