Soot and Ash from an Industrial Fire
This is agglomerated soot and Ash from a large plumbing
warehouse fire. The orange-pink particles, the reddish particle
at the extreme right edge and the slightly above it and to the left with black spots
are part of the ash. The black particles are agglomerated soot.
This was from an environmental tapelift collected in a home a few hundred meters (a
little over 200 yards) away from the fire.

Characteristic Features:
Many of the agglomerated soot particles where elongated fragments similar to tire wear.
The distinguishing characteristics include the lack of
reflectivity and tendency of the thickness not to match the width as determined by
focusing through the particle.
