Sand, Kalapana Beach, Hawaii, Hawaii
This sand sample was from a set of three sands purchased as part of a souvenir from the big island of Hawaii. It is primarily obsidian with some olivine crystal growth inside the grains. These grains have been crushed to expose the olivine inclusions.
