Shot-Blast Particles
These are particles that are created by shot-blasting metal
parts that were coated with oil. This accumulated debris
began smoldering as a result of oxidation generated heat by the oil in contact with
the fresh metal surfaces. The low temperature combustion
resulted in forming a thin layer of oxidized metal on the surface of the flakes.
Thin film interference colors were the result.

Definition/Function:
Metal shot-blast tends to create thin flakes of metal as well as debris from the surface
                of the material being processed.
