Beach at Makauwahi Cave, Kauai, Hawaii
This is volcanic glass collected from a strandline on the
beach near Makauwahi Cave. When this sand is passed
through a #100 US sieve the grains with a higher density (grams/cc) dominate.
Without reflected light it is easier to see the light passing
through the thin edge of the glass particle.
