Beach at Makauwahi Cave, Kauai, Hawaii
                This is sand collected from a strandline on the beach near
                  Makauwahi Cave. When this sand is passed through a #100 US
                  sieve the magnetite crystals dominate. These are crystals that grew in the magma and
                  were freed by erosion over time. The scale on the
                  left is marked in millimeters.
