Ashed Ponderosa Pine Bark Under the Microscope

Charred Ponderosa Pine Bark

This is ash from the bark of Ponderosa Pine. It is from an environmental tapelift collected in a home exposed to smoke from a forest fire. The spoked wheel structures are clearly evident in this particle. The background particles are burnt clay, another characteristic particle type associated with wildfire.
