PM2.5 Particles

This is one view of PM2.5 particles on a Teflon air filter. This filter section was washed with water/isopropyl alcohol 9:1 so the secondary salts have been washed away. Only the stress patterns in the filter are visible. The black particles are from coal dust, charred wood, natural minerals, and other combustion products.
