Definition/Function:
Lead in solution can be detected by adding a small crystal of potassium iodide. The
result is a bright flash of yellow and
the growth of these distinctive hexagonal plates. The test is described in the HANDBOOK
OF CHEMICAL MICROSCOPY by Chamot
and Mason.
