Definition/Function:
Print shops and copy stations may contain many different types of printers or copy
machines. Some ink or toner particles are
released by any machine but the amount of pigmented particle released will vary
significantly by local environmental conditions,
the condition of the machine, and the work load. Paper, paper sizing, and paper
brightener particles are released by the
mechanical abrasion caused by the paper feed rollers.
