Magnetite Crystal With Hemetite Coating
The typical octahedral habit is evident here. There are
hematite inclusions on the surface of the grain. This is from a
sand sample collected on the beach at San Carlos, Mexico.

Magnetite is Fe3O4 and is cubic in crystal habit all though
octahedral {111} parting may be evident.
