Aramid Fiber

An Aramid Fiber is a fiber formed by at least 85% amide linkages attached directly to two aromatic rings forming a long chain polyamide. There are two basic forms, a para-polyamide (such as Kevlar) and a meta-polyamide (such as Nomex).
